Another business staying open for the pandemic is Sacro Cuore, an independent Italian restaurant based in Crouch End. Their wood oven pizzas are available for delivery via Deliveroo. Topped with a range of fresh, traditional ingredients, these include vegetarian options as well as Italian classics such as parma ham.

Director Adam Clark explains: “The staff want to continue working. They are in a safe environment and choose to stay open. We provide food to the community and feel it is something that we can do for as long as we are permitted.” Of course they are also taking precautions against coronavirus, keeping all customers off the premises, cleaning regularly and sanitising hands.

Lemon lates

Cooking up quality British burgers, Cafe Lemon’s evening chef Steve Christodoulou only uses locally sourced, organic meat. He also offers vegetarian options, including a portobello mushroom with freshly made pesto, cushioned by a soft brioche bun. Steve says: “Even with the current situation, if you are lucky enough to have the option of a takeaway or delivery service I’d say most people should and will utilise it, especially smaller companies who simply cannot afford to close.” He adds: “I think that it’s important that people in Haringey have somewhere they can order good food, that is more than just a greasy chicken burger or kebab and that’s what we aim to do.”
