Growing Cultural Fashion & Beauty Movement Announces Events In Wood Green
Established in May 2022, the London-birthed Cultural Style Week event empowers migrants, displaced people, and their descendants living in diverse cities across the world, to celebrate and share their cultural diversity through fashion and personal style!
From 21-27 May, People from all over the world are encouraged to participate and take part wherever they are by proudly wearing their cultural styles across the week, and sharing their pictures online with the tag #culturalstyleweek to connect and share with others.
On Saturday 21 May 2022, the launch event took place in London, one of the most diverse cities in the world, just a few steps away from London’s renowned Royal Exchange. The momentous day which also coincided with the United Nations World Day for Cultural Diversity, saw people from all cultural backgrounds come together to celebrate the London launch of this new global event. Across the week, many people across the globe participated and took part by proudly wearing their cultural styles and sharing their pictures online with the tag #culturalstyleweek and Cultural Style Week 2023 is set to be even bigger and better, with a new fundraising drive for 2023 so that participants can support Refugee Action and Refugee Education UK who do great work to help displaced people.
For 2023 in-person events include national dress parties, fashion shows, pop-ups, special offers, community get-togethers and more, and three days of events are planned for Haringey.
“I love the diversity within Haringey. There are so many cultures and expressions of cultural diversity and I look forward to bringing Cultural Style Week to Haringey. I want to put out a call to local community groups, cultural and culturally inspired designers, venue owners, artists and anyone who wants to get involved really. Get in touch and help us work on our programme of events for Haringey.”
