Tottenham Hotspur and ATG team up to deliver West End in Tottenham

LONDON, Friday 15th March: Tottenham Hotspur has teamed up with the UK’s leading theatre company, Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), to deliver West End in Tottenham – a unique partnership bringing weekly performing arts sessions to young people and communities in the London Borough of Haringey.

Following a successful pilot project in 2022, West End in Tottenham will offer free classes, with funding from the Club, to young people aged 10-17, as well as a community theatre group for over 18s, to celebrate the area’s arts and culture scene – putting the voices of London N17 centre stage.

West End in Tottenham will work with three groups from across Tottenham and wider Haringey over the course of a year to co-create a large-scale community production – curated by specialists from ATG’s Creative Learning programme – to be shown both in Tottenham and at a West End theatre in April 2025.

The production will aim to celebrate the stories and lived experiences of the people of Tottenham, combined with the excitement and vibrancy being brought to the neighbourhood by events held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Weekly sessions begin on Saturday 6th April, with timings and locations as follows:

  • Ages 10-13: Saturdays, 1.15pm – 3.15pm, Alexandra Palace, London N22 7AY
  • Ages 14-17: Saturdays, 3.30pm – 5.30pm, Alexandra Palace, London N22 7AY
  • Over 18s: Wednesdays, 6pm – 8pm, Tottenham Community Sports Centre, N17 8AD

To join, simply register your interest online.

The programme forms part of the Club’s continued drive to provide life-changing opportunities for people in Tottenham – creating a sport, leisure and entertainment destination around its new stadium and embracing the arts and culture. Haringey has been named the London Borough of Culture for 2027.

Donna-Maria Cullen, Executive Director, Tottenham Hotspur, said: “We know that the wealth of talent that exists amongst young people on our doorstep extends far beyond sport – this is why partnering with ATG to bring the West End to Tottenham has the potential to be transformational.

“Some of the world’s biggest theatre productions take place just half an hour away from Tottenham, yet dreams of one day being on the stage can seem so distant for young people in our neighbourhood.

“West End In Tottenham can change that and enable the voices of N17 to be heard through performance, further contributing to Haringey’s vibrant arts and culture scene that has seen it awarded London Borough of Culture for 2027.”

Conor Hunt, Senior Creative Learning Manager for Ambassador Theatre Group, said:Creative Learning at the Ambassador Theatre Group is thrilled to continue our work with Tottenham Hotspur on the West End in Tottenham programme.

“This programme promises to be bigger and bolder than anything we have done in Tottenham before, bringing weekly engagement for the local community and culminating in something that will be truly special.”
