Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has rounded off a unique summer by running a sports day for local families at our stadium.
Held on Park Lane Square, with the backdrop of the stadium’s 17,500-capacity South Stand, the event saw kids, parents and guardians team up and compete against other families in a bid to be crowned champions.
A total of 15 families took part in a series of sporting challenges throughout the day, from football drills and obstacle courses, to funfair-themed games. Time slots were staggered and group sizes limited to enable social distancing, with equipment cleaned between each rotation.
The sports day was one of several activities delivered by the Foundation for people of all ages within the local community during the summer period.
These included Premier League Kicks, aimed at 8 – 18-year-olds, Shape Up With Spurs, our exercise and nutrition programme for local adults, and walking football sessions for the over-40s.
Dan Dodge, Manager at Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, said: “After the success of sessions we’ve been running at the stadium over summer, we wanted to put on an event for the entire family to enjoy together, especially in these tough times.
“The atmosphere has been overwhelmingly fun, but with some healthy competition as well, which was great to see.”
