Special Heritage Visit and the Family Activities for Summer

Bugs and beasties with our fun and free family activities at bruce castle

Special Event: Heritage Visit to St Philip The Apostle Church · Friday 5 August, 10.30am

Come along and explore the history and beautiful Edwardian interiors of St Philip The Apostle, in Philip Lane N15. Designed by the prolific church architects J.P & J.E.K. Cutts and built by the Dove Brothers of north London, you will also see the exquisite stained glass window by William Morris & Co (installed 1926), showing the Magi/ Three Wise Men bringing gifts to the infant Jesus. The window was based on a popular design that was originally created by Pre-Raphaelite artist Edward Burne-Jones with input by William Morris.

You can read a little more from the local newspaper about when the church opened in 1906 here, on the Stones of Haringey website.
